How to calculate the matrix from your birth date

You can calculate the matrix on paper in a few minutes. We show the complete calculation for 15 June 1990. Our calculator uses the same formulas.

The rule: numbers from 1 to 22

Each point is one of the 22 Major Arcana, so every value must be between 1 and 22. If a sum exceeds 22, add its digits.

  • 19: stays 19
  • 22: stays 22
  • 23: 2 + 3 = 5
  • 40: 4 + 0 = 4
  • 44: 4 + 4 = 8

The calculation step by step

  1. Three points from the date

    The day, month and year give the first three points.

  2. Bottom and centre

    Point D is the sum of the first three, and centre E is the sum of all four diamond points.

  3. Four corners

    The square’s corners are sums of neighbouring diamond points.

  4. Heaven and Earth

    Heaven connects top to bottom, and Earth connects left to right.

  5. Goals and lines

    Heaven and Earth make the personal goal; the diagonals make two lines and the social goal; both goals make the spiritual goal.
